Spent catalyst is a waste of catalyst that has been saturated for it has lost its catalytic ability. The saturation is due to catalyst aging, poisoning, or its active center has been covered by other materials. This waste is classified as hazardous waste for its nickel composition. Therefore, it can not be directly discharged into the environment and need a secure waste management. The method of handling hazardous waste is reuse without any additional processing, recycling, or separating each of the components. Spent catalyst has a high silica content which can be used as raw material for producing cement. Silica is a non-renewable resource. Therefore, by utilization of the spent catalyst into raw materials for cement production is expected to minimize or substitute the use of silica. It also expected to reduce the production cost of cement and decrease the negative impact for environment. Method that is used to produce cement in this research is dry methods. Variable in this research is silica ratio derived from spent catalyst and silica sand to cement quality. Result showed that silica ratio derived from spent catalyst and silica sand does not have a significant influence to cement quality.
